A judge has throw out 4 of the 22 counts in ex-congressman Chaka Fattah's case of corruption. Fattah has been cleared of 4 bank and mail fraud counts in his case after post trial defense motions. The most serious conviction on racketeering remains. Fattah was convicted back in June for being involved in creating several fraud plans to raise money for his campaign, as well as for his personal use. Many of Fattah's aides and advisers were convicted as well. The courts still have not given a date when Fattah will face his sentencing.

Mayor Jim Kenney announced his plan to create affordable Pre-Kindergarten for all kids in the city of Philadelphia. Kenney has now put in effect the first phase of his PHL Pre-K initiative. Parents met at the Colombia North YMCA on Broad Street Thursday to see how they can apply their kids to be enrolled in one of the 2000 spots opening for new Pre-K students starting in January. A dozen schools in the Philly area will be selected based on their need and will be awarded $8,500 per student. Kenney stated that the initiative is to be funded through the city's soda tax.

After a long investigation, police have now confirmed the death of 4-year-old Yasim Hamdy, who fell out of an apartment complex window Tuesday night was an accident. The parents of the boy say he had brain cancer which impaired his judgement which resulted in him falling out of the window. The mother of the boy said she was distracted in the other room with their second child, when the boy fell out of the window. The father was not home at the time of the incident. No charges will be filed against the parents.
