Suspect Sought in 5-on-1 Brawl at Geno's; Philly Orchestra Ends Strike; Thank You Ryan Howard

One man has been charged and Philadelphia Police are looking for four other suspects in a brutal 5-on-1 attack at Geno's Steaks back in June. 24-year-old Alberto Lopez turned himself into police on September 14th. He was charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person and related offenses. He was released on 10% of $50,000 bail. The incident happened on the night of June 11th. 31-year-old Patrick Kane of Jenkintown along with his wife and some friends stopped to get a cheese steak after a wedding. One of their female friends asked to bum a cigarette from a group of guys sitting at a table. This made the man very angry. The woman got pushed and Kane's wife was hit. That's when Kane stepped in and found himself up against 5 others. He suffered cuts to the face and a black eye and was punched in head. The whole thing was caught on surveillance cameras, but police say it was too graphic to release. In the midst of all of this the men claimed to belong to ISIS. The Philadelphia Orchestra Association and the orchestra musicians have reached a tentative agreement. This ends a three day strike which began backstage on Friday night just before the opening night gala concert. Here is a statement from the Philadelphia Orchestra from Sunday afternoon: At a meeting earlier today, the executive and human resources committees of the board of directors of The Philadelphia Orchestra voted unanimously to recommend the new contract to the full board that will be voted on at a special meeting of the Board of Directors on Tuesday, October 4. Separately, the musicians met this afternoon and voted to ratify the agreement.

The Philadelphia Phillies season ended today with much more fanfare than their 71-91 record would call for, but that's because the final piece of the best years the club has ever seen was playing his final game in the red pinstripes. 'The Big Piece' Ryan Howard is not necessarily retiring but he won't be a Phillie anymore. He told reporters at his postgame interview that he feels he can still play the game and contribute and doesn't want to stop playing and feel like he didn't leave it all out there. We'll see. Regardless, he'll get a big pay day when the Phils buy out his contract for $10 million. At the ball park Sunday afternoon there was a 15-minute pre-game ceremony dedicated to Ryan. He spoke to the crowd lovingly and with a tear in his eye. He was greeted with a standing ovation every time he took the plate today despite going 0-4. He popped out in the bottom of the 8th for his last at-bat and even got a curtain call. He took the field in the top of the ninth before being replaced at first base by Tommy Joseph. It nice touch by manager Pete McKanin. Howard made the final walk towards the dugout and the crowed showed their love. The past few years, our heroes and legends of '08 vanished in the middle of the night after midsummer trade. Philadelphia got to say goodbye to Howard and an era in person.
