Trenton Kindergartner w/ Heroin in Lunch Box; Carlos Ruiz Billboard; Philly Jesus Mixed Verdict

Police in New Jersey are investigating after heroin was discovered in a kindergarten student's lunchbox in a school in Trenton on Monday. Police were called to the International Academy of Trenton Charter School on Monday. The kindergarten teacher said that she noticed the 5-year-old student playing with what looked like a candy wrapper. When she examined it more closely she saw that it was a packet of drugs in wax paper. Inside the student's lunch box were 29 more packets of heroin. The student was taken to the hospital and tested negative for opiates. Police and Child Protective Services are working together to determine how the child got the drugs. No arrests have been made.

Longtime Philadelphia Phillies Catcher Carlos Ruiz was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers last month. Ruiz wanted to let Philadelphia fans know that he loves us as much as we love him. If you head south on I-95 approaching the stadium area, look out for a new billboard bought by Carlos. It reads, "I loved playing for you. You will always be in my heart. Thank you, Philly! - Chooch." Ruiz played 11 seasons in Philadelphia and was on the 2008 World Series Championship team.

29-year-old Michael Grant, aka Philly Jesus, received a mixed verdict today stemming from a May incident when he refused to leave the Apple Store in Center City. Grant was found guilty of Defiant Trespass, but not guilty of Disorderly Conduct in Philadelphia Municipal Court. On May 1st, Grant, who walks around Center City dressed as Jesus and often carries a 7-foot cross, was in the Apple Store checking e-mail and charging his phone. He was asked to leave because his cross was blocking the aisle. Grant believes he was asked to leave because of his religious expression and protested, ultimately being arrested and removed. Apple store manager Shawn Dobbs said that the store has "hundreds" of video cameras, but none captured the incident. He also said that Grant frequents the store without incident. Grant and his attorney plan to appeal their case to a jury. Municipal Court Judge Craig M. Washington sentenced Grant to three months' probation.
