Former Montgomery County DA and Commissioner Bruce Castor becomes Pennsylvania's acting attorney general on Wednesday. Kathleen Kane, convicted on perjury and other charges Monday night, announced she'll resign at the close of business Wednesday. Bruce Castor has been serving as Kathleen Kane's second-in-command for several months. On Tuesday afternoon, he told reporters he believes he has his "hands around" the situation in an attorney general's office that has been roiled during Kane's tenure. Castor says his first priority will be to continue what he has been trying to do all along since becoming Kane's number two: restore public confidence in the work that the office of attorney general does, and restore morale in the ranks of the office. Governor Wolf, meanwhile, called Kane's decision the right one, allowing Pennsylvania to "finally move on."

The Air Force Thunderbirds have brought thunder back to the Atlantic City boardwalk. Spectators got a chance to see routines on practice day before the 14th Annual Atlantic City Airshow on Wednesday. An estimated 400,000 people visit Atlantic City and nearby towns to watch the Air Show. It’s put on by the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce which estimates the show pumps about $200 million into the local economy. The Airshow is purposefully scheduled mid-week to bring an extra boost. It features demonstrations from each branch of the military, as well as aerobatic pilots like 3-time World Champion Rob Holland. Atlantic City has spent months planning for heavy traffic, big crowds and high heat. Extra police and EMT’s will be on hand as well as cooling stations available to the public. If you plan to be one of the 400,000 or so people to take in the Airshow, safety officials say to leave the alcohol and drinks with caffeine at home, but do bring lots of water and sunscreen.

Get ready to pay more to Pennsylvania if you ever get lucky enough to win the lottery in the state. For the first time since the lottery launched, the state will keep a little more than three percent of winnings. To be exact, they will keep 3.07 percent on winnings over $5,000, before you collect your prize. That new sum is on top of the 25 percent in federal taxes that are already taken out of it. For all prizes of $600 or more, winners will get a W-2G form to submit with income taxes.
