Fresh off the Democratic National Convention here in Philadelphia, presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held a rally at noon on Friday at Temple University's McGonigle Hall on North Broad Street. The rally was originally scheduled to be held on Independence Mall but was moved due to the threat of inclement weather. Clinton was joined on stage by her husband Bill, vice presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine, and his wife Ann Holton. Mayor Jim Kenney, Sen. Bob Casey, and Senate hopeful Katie McGinty spoke. Clinton and Kaine embarked on a bus tour across Pennsylvania and Ohio to begin their general election campaign following the rally.

SEPTA has announced temporary changes to fare collection for Regional Rail trains starting on Monday to ease crowding during the evening rush. Between 3 pm and 6:30 pm, commuters using Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street, & University City stations will have their passes validated or tickets punched at the stairway on the mezzanine level before heading to the train platform. You will not be able to buy a ticket on the train during these times. Riders with cash will have to purchase a ticket at the station's ticket office before heading to the line. AM, Evening, and Weekend fare collection will not change. SEPTA says that 95% of riders use these stations everyday and they hope to make the afternoon smoother with these changes. SEPTA removed over 100 cars from it's fleet earlier this month due to a structural defect, it is working on replacing and repairing those parts.
