Woman Shot with Crossbow; Folcroft Cop to be Released Today; Delaware Considers Moving Spring Break

A Northeast Philadelphia woman is dead, shot by her boyfriend with a crossbow. It happened last night after an argument ended with the man shooting her in the chest. The arrow went through the 42 year old victim, then through a sofa before embedding in a wall. The woman was able to get to a neighbors house, but lost a lot of blood and died at the hospital. The 40 year old boyfriend is in custody.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Pamela Kightlinger. Her husband, 41-year-old Paul Kuzan, is in custody.

The Folcroft police officer shot in the line of duty on Friday is expected to be released from the hospital this afternoon. That's just three days after Officer Christopher Dorman was shot seven times in his face, chest, leg and groin. Dorman joined the police force more than a year ago. He was wearing his bulletproof vest during Friday's shooting.

University of Delaware is considering shifting spring break to coincide with other colleges' schedules after a visiting Spring Breaker died there earlier this year. Traditionally, students from other schools on break during the week of St. Patrick's Day come to Delaware for its parties, since Delaware goes on break the next week. This year, a freshman from Skidmore College in New York, fell 30 feet to his death from a fraternity house roof at Delaware while on spring break.
