Lawyer Arrested for Coffee Attack; Pharmacist Shoots Attempted Robber; North Penn Teen Admits Arson

A Montgomery County woman has been arrested for throwing coffee on and assaulting another woman outside of a Center City Starbucks back in April. 47-year-old Yvonne Montgomery, a lawyer from Wyncote, was caught on surveillance video back on April 25 at the Starbucks at 1600 Arch Street. During the altercation, Montgomery allegedly threw a cup of coffee in the 54-year-old woman's face. She also punched her in the face, grabbed her hair, and pulled her to the ground. A nearby witness separated the two women. Montgomery turned herself in on May 24th. She is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, and other disorderly conduct-fighting. A robbery attempt was thwarted this morning in Bucks County when a pharmacy owner shot and killed an armed man in his store. It happened around 10 a.m. at the Pennsbury Pharmacy on New Falls Road in Levittown. Two men pulled up outside in a minivan. The passenger got out wearing a mask and carrying a shotgun. The owner of the store noticed the man entering the pharmacy and pulled his own handgun. The owner fired multiple shots at the would-be robber killing him. At the same time, he hit the silent alarm. Police arrived in two minutes and arrested the getaway driver who was still waiting outside unaware of the shooting.

A 17-year-old North Penn High School student admitted in juvenile court today to lighting a fire inside the school that caused a mass evacuation and hundreds of thousands in damage back on May 24th. The teen admitted to both felony 1st degree arson and felony second degree risking a catastrophe. He said he lit a stack of napkins of fire in the band storage area and thought it had gone out when he walked away. The ensuing blaze caused $800,000 in damages, including $300,000 in damage to both the school's and student's instruments. Disposition will follow psychiatric and psychological evaluation. Prosecutors are seeking placement in a juvenile facility. The teen was remanded to the county youth center in the meantime.
