Police Officer Shocked in Doylestown; Charges in Recycling Murder; Man Finds $15,200 Cash in Bag

A Bucks County police officer was shocked and injured during a narcotics investigation at the Doylestown SEPTA station on Tuesday afternoon. The Morrisville officer was part of a county drug task force investigating a suspect who was allegedly transporting heroin on the train from Philadelphia to Doylestown. They received a tip that the man was coming on the train again. The train arrived around 3 p.m. and the task force closed in to take him into custody. The man fled and threw the drugs onto the top of train. The officer climbed a ladder to the roof and was shocked. He suffered some burns and is expected to be ok. The suspect was caught. Service was interrupted for around 2 hours.

An Allentown man has been charged in the death of 59-year-old Rose Sieniawski whose body was found in a recycling bin on Valentine's Day. The Medical Examiner determined she was shot to death. 62-year-old Walter Bratvold has been charged with one count of homicide and one count of abuse of a corpse. The two had been in a relationship and sharing an apartment. On February 16th, police attempted to serve a warrant on Bratvold's apartment. He opened fire and wounded an officer. He was also shot and injured in the exchange. He has been charged with five counts of attempted homicide and 10 counts of aggravated assault for that incident. Police recovered a .22 caliber revolver from the apartment which matched a bullet from Sieniawski.

On Monday night, 61-year-old SEPTA employee Bob Tracey was on his way home along State Road in Upper Darby when he noticed a black bag in the middle of the street. Tracey stopped and picked it up thinking it may have been a woman's purse. After pushing past some envelopes he got quite a surprise. There was $15,200 in crisp $100 and $20 bills inside. Tracey immediately called police and turned in the money. Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood praised Tracey for doing the right thing. As of this time no one has claimed the cash and police do not know if it belongs to a legitimate party or was someone's illegal funds.
