Felony Lane Gang Members Arrested; Self Defense Shooting in Queens Village; DE Conviction Overturned

The seven arrested yesterday following a high speed chase along Rt. 202 and I-76 have been identified as members of the Felony Lane Gang. The 3 women and 4 men are from Baltimore, MD, and Fort Lauderdale, FL. They were arraigned this morning and are being held on $300,000 cash bail. The 'gang' is notorious for stealing purses and wallets in unattended or unlocked vehicles in parking lots across the country. They then get vulnerable people who resemble the ID stolen to withdraw money from bank accounts from the last lane of the drive-through aka. the 'felony lane'. The suspects have been charged with violations of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code including Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer, Fleeing or Eluding Police, Receiving Stolen Property, ID Theft, Access Device Theft and Criminal Conspiracy.

Two men were shot in Philadelphia's Queens Village on Tuesday night during an altercation with another man. It happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at 2nd and Bainbridge streets. A 65-year-old man and his wife were walking along 2nd Street when they were approached by a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old man. An argument turned physical and the young men began the beat the older man. He pulled out his .45 caliber pistol and opened fire. He fired three shots, hitting the 21-year-old in the neck and the 20-year-old in the chest. They were both taken to the hospital. He was also taken to the hospital. The man has a permit to carry the pistol. The District Attorney's office is reviewing the case, but police have said this looks like self defense.

The Delaware Supreme Court has overturned the conviction of a former prep school headmaster sentenced to 50 years in prison on child pornography charges. The court ruled today that search warrants obtained by police were unconstitutionally broad. Christopher Wheeler was convicted last year on 25 counts of dealing child porn. He is the former headmaster at Tower Hill School in Wilmington, DE.
