A traffic stop led to a high speed chase along the Schuylkill Expressway and the arrest of 7 people early this afternoon. Tredyffrin Township police stopped a black SUV along 202 in Chester County around 2 p.m. Three people were taken into custody at that time. The driver with three others inside the SUV took off, ramming a police cruiser in the process. State Police joined the pursuit onto I-76. The SUV became boxed in near the Belmont exit and the occupants got out and fled. They were all caught and taken into custody. No one was injured during the incident. No word on what prompted the initial stop or the identities of the suspects. Traffic was backed up for hours following the incident.

UPDATE: The suspects have been identified as members of the Felony Lane Gang. Firefighters in Tredyffrin first spotted them trying to alter license plates and notified police. The first three were taken into custody at the scene. When the SUV finally stopped on 76 near Belmont the other four fled on foot. They were quickly captured. One actually jumped in the Schuylkill River and is currently being treated in the hospital.

The Pennsylvania Superior Court has postponed Bill Cosby's scheduled preliminary hearing while an appeals court decides whether or not to hear the entertainer's appeal. Cosby claims that he should not have been charged in this criminal sex-assault case because the former district attorney promised him no charges would ever be filed back in 2005. The case was reopened late last year. The preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 8th.

A worker was killed this morning after being crushed by 2,000 pounds of recycled paper in an industrial accident in Northeast Philadelphia. It happened at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Waste Management facility in the 5200 block of Bleigh Avenue. The 42-year-old forklift operator was inspecting his forklift when a second operator hit some material starting a domino effect that caused a one ton bale of recycled paper to come crashing down on the man. The plant is only 5 years old and processes 20,000 tons of material a month. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating.
