FAA Drone Registration, Multi State Retail Theft Ring Hits Upper Gwynedd, Toyota SUV Recall

Time has run out to register that drone.
Despite facing lawsuits, the government is warning it will begin cracking down on people who haven't signed up. The potential penalties are up to three years in prison and a quarter-million dollar fine. The Federal Aviation Administration says serious consequences are warranted for a hobby that requires knowing where you can and can't fly. All drones heavier than about a half-pound must be registered for a $5 fee. It's good for three years.

Police in several states are on the hunt for three men involved in an organized retail theft ring. Police say the group originated in the Washington DC, Maryland area. Surveillance video from the AT&T store in the 1500 block of Valley Forge Road in Upper Gwynedd shows all three suspects entering the store separately on January 19th. Eventually one of the men makes his way by a store full of customers into a storage room where he grabs iPhones and iPads. Police have identified 22-year-old Delonte Davis of Bowie, Maryland as one of the suspects. Police believe theyâ€™ve been targeting stores all along the East Coast from North Carolina to New Jersey.

Toyota is recalling more than 1.1 million small SUVs in the U.S. because the seat belts might fail in a crash. The recall covers RAV4 SUVS from the 2006 through 2012 model years, as well as the RAV4 electric vehicle from 2012 through 2014. Toyota says itâ€™s possible that the belts in both second-row outside seats could come in contact with the metal seat cushion frame in a severe frontal crash. If that happens, the belts could become cut and would not restrain passengers. The company says it will add plastic covers to the seat cushion frame at no cost to owners. It was unclear when the recall would begin.
