PA Tpk Used Bad Forecast; Apple to Fight Back Door Order; Big 5 Battle on Broad St.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike was filled with stranded motorists last month in blizzard conditions for 24 hours. It turns out Turnpike managers were hampered because they relied on a single afternoon weather forecast that understated the severity of the storm. Testifying yesterday before a state Senate committee, Turnpike Commission Chairman Sean Logan said the officials relied on a Jan. 22 mid-afternoon advisory that called for what seemed a "manageable range" of snow in south central Pennsylvania - 6 to 8 inches.

Apple CEO Tim Cook says his company will fight a federal magistrate's order to hack its users in connection with the investigation of the San Bernardino shootings. The order for a Back Door through encryption raises the debate over privacy issues versus national security. Cook's response came after an order from U.S. Magistrate Judge Sheri Pym that Apple help the Obama administration break into an encrypted iPhone belonging to one of the shooters in the December attack. The first-of-its-kind ruling was a significant victory for the Justice Department in a technology policy debate that pits digital privacy against national security interests.

You can throw records and rankings out the window for this one. Both teams are very good and both Villanova and Temple will be very up for a battle on Broad Street.
