The major winter storm continues to develop on schedule, with just a few things to watch as we head toward the end of the week. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for most of the region from Friday evening through early Sunday morning. Snow will arrive after 7pm Friday and become heavy at times overnight through Saturday Afternoon. The steady snow will begin to taper off late Saturday evening. A Coastal Flood Watch is in effect for the shore points, DE beaches and areas along the Delaware Bay As of now, 12-16" is expected for Philly and surrounding areas with lesser amounts the farther north you go.

Sponsored by Firefly Music Festival. Tickets are on sale now. Check out this lineup! FireflyFestival.com

With a major snowstorm on the way, people planning to fly out of Philadelphia International Airport over the next few days may be having second thoughts. The major airlines servicing PHL have announced travel alerts that allow passengers to rebook their flights without being charged a change fee. American Airlines — the largest carrier at Philly International — is waiving fees for customers who want to change flights scheduled between today and Sunday. United and Delta are waiving change fees for travelers booked on flights from Friday to Sunday. A Delta spokesman says the airline would rather allow passengers to rebook in advance, than have them arrive at the airport and discover their flight has been cancelled due to bad weather.

Pennsylvania lawmakers are mulling legislation that would have motorists risk suspension of their vehicle registration for failing to pay tolls. The state Senate Transportation Committee Wednesday advanced legislation that would allow PennDOT to suspend the registration of vehicles in cases where the owner has failed to pay tolls on multiple occasions. Suburban Philadelphia Republican John Rafferty, co-sponsor of the bill and chairman of the Transportation Committee, says the bill is in response to reports that the Turnpike is out millions of dollars in uncollected tolls. Similar legislation has been introduced in the state House.
