Drones are expected to be one of the 'it' tech toys this Christmas. But starting next Monday, there will be new regulations that drone owners will have to follow before flying one - or else risk steep fines and prison time. Many drones aren't toys. According to the Federal Aviation Administration , they're unmanned aircraft systems - and as such, they'll need to be registered. Owners of any drone that weighs more than about nine ounces - even if it's homemade, even if it's just in your yard - will have to fill in an online form with their name, email and postal address, and hand over $5.

The Phillies honored community heroes on Monday night with a special salute. One local organization received a “game-changing,” salute from the team. Sunny Longordo is a member of the Garden State Underwater Recovery Rescue and the $10,000 grant, her group received from the Phillies on Monday, will go a long way to aiding the effort. The members of the group dive when other won’t, or can’t. Exactly one year ago to the day Monday, a volunteer with Garden State recovered the body of Shane Montgomery in the Schuylkill River. The 21 year old disappeared Thanksgiving morning.

Before a full ballroom on Monday at the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 5 in North Philadelphia, Malcolm Jenkins and his foundation, The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, fed over 130 needy families with the ‘Holiday Dinner Basket Surprise.’ They handed out packaged canned goods and turkeys to homeless shelters and charitable organizations throughout the Delaware Valley area. And right in the middle of it, from start to finish, carrying out the boxes to waiting cars and SUVs, and making sure everyone’s needs were met was Jenkins. Annually, The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation’s Holiday Dinner Basket Surprise has served hundreds of families in the New Orleans area since 2011. Striving to make an impact in every city in which Malcolm Jenkins has lived, worked, and played, the effort has now expanded to Philadelphia. Covering two cities, this year’s effort will feed a total of 270 families across New Orleans and Greater Philadelphia. The event in New Orleans is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015.
