Delaware State Police arrested a man for the fatal stabbing a woman and her elderly mother in Smyrna on Sunday morning. 66-year-old Gilbert E. Rochester of Clayton is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. It happened around 7:30 a.m. on the 300 block of Hawkey Branch Road. Rochester parked his car about a mile away and waited outside the home. He stabbed 80-year-old Louise Cavuto Carrow after she exited the home and walking towards the garage. Rochester then attacked her daughter and his estranged wife, 56-year-old Mary C. Lane, when she came outside. He fled on foot but was later taken into custody. He is being held without bail at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center. Lane and Rochester were going through a divorce and she was staying with her mother and 87-year-old stepfather.

A man with a weapon who was threatening customers at a Walmart in northeastern Pennsylvania was shot and killed by police. 20-year-old Andrew Joseph Todd of Mount Bethel, PA, was shot after refusing officers' orders to drop his weapons. It happened at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County. Police responded to a report of an armed man threatening customers with a weapon. There were approximately 100 customers inside at the time. After Todd refused to drop his weapon and continued to point it at officers, he was shot in the chest. He taken to Pocono Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Todd was carrying a machete and two guns.

Philadelphia's Northwest Raiders have won their second straight Pop Warner Superbowl. In Saturday's championship game the Raiders fell behind 19-0 against the Old Town Gators of Maryland in the first quarter. The team rallied and won the game scoring 34 straight unanswered points. It was a team effort with offense, defense, and special teams contributing.
