Murder-suicide at NJ Nursing Home; West Chester Hit-and-Run Car Found; Christie Kicked off Quiet Car

Authorities in Camden County, New Jersey are investigating a shooting at an assisted living facility that they are calling a murder-suicide. It happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Genesis Healthcare Facility on the 3000 block of Evesham Road in Vorhees. 62-year-old George Bullet III of Lumberton came to visit his mother, 85-year-old Andree Bullet. The two ate dinner in the cafeteria before returning to her room. At some point Bullet went to his car and came back. Employees then heard a gunshot. A nursing aide ran to the room, saw the mother dead, and witnessed Bullet shoot himself. No one else was injured. Residents in that wing were moved to a different part of the complex while the investigation continues.

West Goshen Police say they have recovered the vehicle suspected in a hit-and-run accident that injured a man near West Chester University early Sunday morning. The 2001 Dodge Caravan seen in surveillance video has some driver's side damage. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning on the 800 block of South High Street. The minivan hit 21-year-old Sayid Murphy of Philadelphia and then kept going south. He was taken to Paoli Hospital with serious injuries where he remains in critical but stable condition. Investigators have identified the driver and expect an interview on Monday. No charges have been filed at this time.

New Jersey Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Chris Christie apologized Sunday for making too much noise on an Amtrak quiet car. His spokeswoman Samantha Smith says that Christie accidentally took a seat on the car on his way back from Washington, DC Sunday morning. He was talking on his cell phone and a conductor pointed him out. The governor realized he was breaking "the cardinal rule of the quiet car" and moved to the cafe car for the rest of the trip. Christie was in DC to appear on "Face the Nation."
