Police say a Walmart employee was stabbed early Friday morning during a robbery at the store in Northeast Philadelphia. This happened around 1:30 a.m. on the 4300 block of Byeberry Road at Philadelphia Mills when the cashier confronted a man trying to leave the store with a TV and a couple of boxes of boots. The thief got away with the TV in what police describe as a grey or light-colored hatchback, but are dusting the boxes of boots which were left behind, for fingerprints.

GoGo squeeZ is voluntarily recalling specific pouches of applesauce, due to the development of mold in a small number of pouches. An independent lab tested the mold, and an expert microbiologist determined that it poses no known health risk. The statement says the company was able to catch most of the potentially affected products before they got to the stores. As a result, the company says they are voluntarily recalling products with “Best Before Dates” between 6/30/16 and 7/26/16 and produced in the U.S. The statement says no other GoGo squeeZ products are impacted by this voluntary recall. For instructions on how to identify affected products, visit : www.gogosqueez.com/announcement. If you have made a recent purchase and have any of these products in your home , the statement says to click here: https://voucher.gogosqueez.com/ or call 1-844-275-5841. Philadelphia officials are now looking forward to the next major event — the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The DNC Committee announced the opening of their Philadelphia office Thursday and also had some news for local businesses. The convention committee estimated the week-long event will put about $350 million into the city’s economy. The Mayor was apparently just as confident making a bold statement that he expects many restaurants to completely sell out. About 50,000 people are expected and DNC officials say those big crowds will mean big money for local businesses. Full details on the convention can be found at demconvention.com.
