Wildwood Home Not Missed By Some; Wolf Budget Vote; NASA Launch Tonight

The owner of the Wildwood home that washed into the bay is paying to have the home and debris removed from the water. Meanwhile some neighbors are saying good riddance to the Grassy Sound home swept off its pilings Saturday. They say it was a structurally unsound nuisance and the home was doomed to wind up in the bay. Others say it's been falling apart for five years and blame local officials for ignoring repeated complaints. The home's owner, Stuart Tait, said over the weekend that he had nothing but good memories about his home that survived Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is hoping for bipartisan support for more revenue for his budget. Wolf's plan for higher taxes could collapse today as the Republican-controlled House is set to vote on administration tax proposals. If the vote is "no," that could end big tax increases proposed by Wolf. He says the budget, overdue since July 1, can't be balanced without a jump in a broad-based tax, such as the PIT (personal income tax). Republicans, since the day in March when Wolf proposed his budget, say there aren't enough votes for broad-base hikes.

Skygazers across the Mid-Atlantic, including in Philadelphia, may be able to see a rocket launch tonight. NASA is planning to launch a suborbital rocket from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia between 7 and 9 p.m. tonight. The space agency says the mission is to test a modified rocket motor, launch vehicle, spacecraft systems and sub-payload ejection technologies. As part of the sub-payload ejection tests, mixtures of barium and strontium will be released, creating a blue-green and red cloud that will be visible to the Philadelphia area if skies are clear for 6 to 10 minutes after launch in the southeast sky.
