The Phillies set a new record last night. Although the organization is not particularly proud of this one. Last night's loss to the equally poor Atlanta Braves was played in front of an announced crowd of 15,125, a new low attendance record for Citizens Bank Park. Monday night marked the fourth time the Phillies had set a new low for the 12-year-old ballpark, which has hosted 1,203 games since 2004.

The two people killed by a taxi in Center City early yesterday morning were apparently in town for the Made In America festival. Police say Amanda DiGirolomo, of Phoenixville, and Bryan Botti, of Baltimore were struck by a cab heading north on Broad Street near Arch after 4:30 a.m. DiGirolmo died at the scene. The Vatican is expected to announce what could be the most sweeping changes in decades to annulments, a church-sanctioned process to end Catholic marriages that has been criticized as lengthy, expensive, and confusing. Experts say the changes likely make the process easier and more accessible, with the ultimate aim of bringing some Catholics back to the church. Catholics who remarry without an annulment are forbidden from receiving Holy Communion - a rule that causes some Catholics and their children to fall away from the church. It would be Pope Francis' second major announcement in the last week: Earlier, he gave every priest the power to forgive abortion, beginning in December when the church starts a "Holy Year of Mercy."
