Case Against Kathleen Kane Will Go To Trial; Papal Visit Playbook Now Online; Dow Jones Plunges 588

Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane appeared in court in Norristown today for a preliminary hearing on charges she leaked grand jury material to a newspaper and then lied about it to another grand jury investigating her. The prosecution called numerous witnesses to testify toward Kane's actions. They also read from Kane's own grand jury testimony. 49-year-old Kane has yet to enter a plea but has maintained her innocence, blaming these charges as an attempt by government officials to keep name associated with a porn email scandal hidden. Magisterial Judge Cathleen Kelly Rebar determined that there was enough evidence to proceed to trial. Governor Wolf and other top Democrats have urged Kane to step down, but she says she will remain in office.

The Papal Visit Playbook is now available online. It is available on the World Meeting of Families website: http://www.worldmeeting2015.org/papal-visit-playbook-homepage/. You can also enter your e-mail to sign up to receive updates as they become available. The playbook has information about planning for the event, transportation, critical contact numbers, healthcare options especially for those living inside the restricted zones, and more for all residents of the Philadelphia-area. Organizers will be adding to the Playbook as details become finalized.

The Dow Jones Industrial average finished the day down 588 points after being down as much as 1,089 at the start of trading Monday morning. Much of the sell-off on Wall Street came in reaction to over night trading that saw the Shanghai Composite in China down 8.5%. China's main stock index has been tumbling since the country devalued it's currency recently. Analysts are just unsure about a possible slowdown in China's economy and the prospects of doing business there. However, many say there is nothing to worry about for the US market. Despite a downslide the past week, it is all just a natural correction given the recent bull market.
