Woman Shot in Port Richmond Home; El Shutdown for Suspicious Package; NE Crash Victims ID'd

A 22-year-old woman was shot and killed inside her Port Richmond home on Thursday night as her 2-year-old daughter lay next to her in bed. It happened on the 3000 block of Aramingo Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. Stephanie Dzikowski was found shot in the head in an upstairs bedroom, the child was not hurt. Her boyfriend and the girl's father had gone out for milk when the intruder entered the home. Detectives don't believe this was a random attack, that the victim was targeted. Neighbors heard the guns shots and chased a man wearing a grey hoodie. Police do have some surveillance from outside a store on the block showing the fleeing man. They do not yet have a motive. The investigation is ongoing.

The Market-Frankford El in Center City was shutdown for almost an hour this afternoon after an unattended package caused a bomb scare. The package was spotted around 4 pm in the track area of the 5th Street Station. Commuters were forced to take shuttles between Spring Garden and 15th as the bomb squad investigated. It turned out to be a non-threat and service was restored around 4:45 pm. Complicating the travel problem was a 2 bus accident at 15th and Market just after 4 pm involving the SEPTA Route 17 bus and a Megabus. Three SEPTA passengers complained of injuries and were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.

Police have identified the people injured and killed in crash in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday night. 17-year-olds Sabrina Rhoads and Yvette Gonzalez of Philadelphia were ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. 20-year-old Felipe Hernandez of Medford, NJ was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene. 17-year-old Bagdon Arutyunov of Philadelphia was found in the roadway and is at Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition. The driver, 20-year-old Christopher Bloomfield of Philadelphia, walked away from the wreck and ended up at the hospital at 4 a.m. the next morning. He is cooperating with police. Police say that the 2007 Acura was traveling more than 75 miles and hour when it hit a tree on Sandmeyer Lane off of Red Lion Road. There was another car seen on surveillance video. Police looking for that vehicle.
