The New York Stock Exchange shutdown for a few hours Wednesday afternoon after what was called 'an internal technical issue.' Trading was halted around 11:30 a.m. ET and did not resume until about 3:10 p.m. ET. Security experts say that this was the result of an internal software glitch and not 'the result of a cyber breach.' Investors were still able to buy and sell NYSE-listed stocks at one of the dozens of other US stock exchanges and trading venues. There also does not seem to be a link to this outage and an outage affecting United Continental airlines and the Wall Street Journal website. The Dow Jones Industrial average finished down 261.49 or 1.47%.

A suspect in a bank robbery in Hatboro, Montgomery County, was shot by a citizen while he was making his getaway. Police responded at 10:18 a.m. to a robbery at the TD Bank branch on the 200 block of South York Road. Authorities say that a Hatboro town official was in the bank at the time of the incident and chased the suspect when he fled. The official shot the suspect a short distance away on the 200 block of South Warminster Road. He was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital. No word on his condition or the identities of the citizen or suspect.

A man in northeast Pennsylvania was arrested over the 4th of July weekend for trying to celebrate with a gasoline bomb. James Graziano was walking around with a can of gas near the Half Circle BBQ Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre telling people he was making a bomb. The 51-year-old admitted to police that he lit the gasoline in a field behind the restaurant but it wouldn't blow up. Police also found a small amount of pot on him, which he claims he found and was going to turn in. He is in jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.

Tonight,
Cloudy, temperatures in the low 80's/upper 70's this evening in Center City
