The man convicted of killing off-duty Philadelphia police officer Moses Walker Jr. in 2012 during a robbery was sentenced today in court. Rafael Jones was found guilty of first-degree murder by Judge Jeffrey Minehart in a non-jury trial. His accomplice, Chancier McFarland, previously pled guilty. Walker was killed walking to the bus stop after finishing his shift at the 22nd police district in North Philadelphia. Judge Minehart sentenced Jones to a life sentence plus 23 - 47 years with out opportunity for parole. Jones did not express any remorse and even questioned the judge's authority to impose sentence on him.

A head-on crash involving a tractor-trailer and a bus has left 3 dead and many injured in Northeast Pennsylvania. The crash happened around 10 a.m. on Interstate 380 in Monroe County about 115 miles north of Philadelphia in Tobyhanna Township, PA. Reports say that the tractor-trailer veered into the northbound lanes from the southbound lanes and collided straight on with the tour bus. It may have been bumped across the median by another tractor-trailer traveling southbound. The bus' front end was mangled and tore the trailer in half. The tractor's cab ended up in the woods. The bus driver and two passengers were killed. Thirteen others were injured, four were flown to hospitals. The tour bus was carrying Italian tourists from New York City to Niagara Falls. The bus driver has been identified as 54-year-old Alfredo Telemaco of New York, NY. In March 1990, singer Gloria Estefan suffered broken vertebrae when her tour bus was hit by a truck on a snow covered I-380 also near Tobyhanna, PA.

Police are asking the public's helping in identifying a man responsible for a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon in Plymouth Meeting. It happened at about 3:51 p.m. at the Bank of America branch on the 400 block of Plymouth Road. The man entered the bank, handed a note to the teller, and was carrying a small black pistol. As he was leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash he turned and fired a shot toward the teller windows. No one was injured. He then fled the area on foot. He is described as black, mid/late 40's, wearing white t-shirt and hat. (see photo below) They believe he may be the same suspect who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Bryn Mawr on May 14th. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-641-8910 or the Plymouth Township Police Department at 610-279-1901.

Tonight,
Cloudy, temperatures falling through the 60's this evening in Center City
