Baby Found in Duffel Bag in West Philly; Tractor Trailer Overturned on 476; Video Kensington Shooter

Police are investigating after a newborn baby was found dead inside a duffel bag in West Philadelphia. The child was discovered on Friday evening on the 5800 block of Norfolk Street and transported to the hospital and pronounced dead at 5:59 p.m. The child may have been born on Thursday. The baby's 22-year-old mother was also transported to the hospital. There is no word on her condition. An autopsy will have to be performed to determine the baby's cause of death. The Special Victim's Unit is investigating the case. They will be executing a search warrant on the mother's residence.

A tractor trailer overturned on the Blue Route I-476 northbound between Exit 3 (Baltimore Pike) and Exit 5 (US Rt 1) in Springfield Township, Delaware County, on Friday night around 11 pm. It is blocking both northbound and southbound lanes. Only the shoulder is getting by in either direction. There is no word on the driver or on any injuries.

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of and are asking the public's help in finding a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting in Kensington on Wednesday, May 27th. It happened just after 6:30 pm on the 500 block of East Cambria Street. The victim was hit three times in the back and stomach. He was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. The suspect was last seen fleeing north on the 2800 block of Hartville Street. He is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man, 5' 9" - 5' 11", with a medium build. He was wearing glasses, a black tank top, dark grey shorts, with tattoos on his arms and neck. The suspect is known to spend time around the 2800 block of Kensington Avenue and the 500 block of East Cambria Street. Anyone with information can call police at 215-686-8477 (TIPS) or send a text message to 773847 (PPDTIP).

In a different incident, a teen girl was shot around 11:30 p.m. on 3500 block of Stouton Street in Kensington around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night. She was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot to the abdomen.
