Husband Pleads Guilty Pennypack Park Murder; Cape May Sexting; Probation Poconos Teen Crash

A Northeast Philadelphia man plead guilty today to strangling his wife near Pennypark Park last summer. 49-year-old Christopher Murray plead guilty to 3rd-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Connie Murray. Connie had gone out for a walk after the couple had an argument over text messages Christopher received from a female acquaintance. She did not return and was reported missing the next day. She was found on the edge of the woods near Crispin Park in Holme Circle. Christopher failed a lie detector and later confessed. He tearfully apologized to everyone in the courtroom today. Judge Benjamin Lerner sentenced Murray to 20-40 years in prison. The couple has 12- and 17-year-old daughters.

19 juveniles and 1 adult have been charged in a sexting scandal in Cape May County. The investigation centered around Lower Cape May Regional High School and the Richard M. Teitelman Middle School in Lower Township. School officials were notified that naked photos of a female students were being shared amongst male students via text and social media. Authorities seized 27 cell phones. The 20 individuals were charged with Invasion of Privacy. The juveniles face up to two years in the Training School. The adult faces three to five years in State Prison.

The teenage driver, who was 15 and unlicensed at the time, that was behind the wheel of her father's SUV during a deadly crash in the Poconos last year has received probation. The female driver from New York took the car with permission from her father, 53-year-old Michael Ware. Ware is charged with involuntary manslaughter. There was a total of six teens in the vehicle at the time. The SUV rolled over in the middle of the road in Wayne County, no other car was involved. Three 15-year-old boys from Council Rock High in Bucks County were killed. In addition to the indefinite probation which lasts until 21, the driver has to perform 300 hours of community service, undergo mental health counseling, and must pay more than $30,000 in restitution. She must also write apology letters and a 2,000 word essay on why the crime was wrong.
