SEPTA will resume operations on the Trenton Regional Rail Line with the start of the service day on Monday. The announcement Sunday evening followed Amtrak's announcement of restoration of service on the Northeast Corridor effective Monday morning. Service on both railways was suspended following Tuesday night's deadly derailment of an Amtrak train at Frankford Junction. SEPTA says due to an anticipated reduction in the number of operating tracks, inbound trains will not stop at the North Philadelphia Station. Outbound trains will not stop at North Philadelphia, Bridesburg and Tacony stations on Monday. Service to and from these stations is tentatively expected to resume later on Monday. SEPTA is warning commuters using the Trenton Line on Monday to expect delays as this service restoration moves forward. Also, SEPTA is advising commuters who use the Chestnut Hill East Regional Rail Line to anticipate similar delays, since most trains traveling to and from Trenton also serve the Chestnut Hill East Line. Commuters can find alternate modes of travel on SEPTA’s website.

President Barrack Obama is meeting with law enforcement officials in Camden, New Jersey today to hear about their efforts to build trust between the police department and the community.
The newly-established Camden County Police Department has gained national recognition for the strides its made in its use of community policing. Camden was recently designated a “Promise Zone,” which could open doors to get extra federal grants. to increase economic opportunity, reduce crime and improve public health. Obama will discuss how such partnerships and community investments are a crucial part of creating opportunities for all Americans. Camden is among the poorest cities in the nation. Nearly half the adults lack high school degrees and crime rates are among the highest in the country. In recent years, the state government has taken over the school district, the county government has taken over policing of the city and the state has started offering major incentives for businesses to move there.

New sequels dominated at the box office this weekend. Pitch Perfect 2, the a cappella comedy follow-up starring Anna Kendrick, finished first with an estimated $70-million. In second place was the debuting action thriller, Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth installment in the Mad Max franchise, with Tom Hardy annd Charlize Theron. It took in $44-million. Dropping to third was the box office leader of the last two weekends, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which added to its impressive cumulative total of over $370-million with another $39-million. Rounding out the top five were the holdovers Hot Pursuit and yet another sequel, Furious 7, with $6-million and $4-million, respectively. Overall, industry-wide totals were well above those on the counterpart weekend last year.
