Bus Hits House in Mount Laurel; Mother Waives Extradition From MD; Suspects Sought in AK47 Robbery

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a bus accident in Mount Laurel, Burlington County this afternoon. The incident happened sometime after 3:30 pm at 13 Lenape Court where the school bus left the road, travelled across the front lawn, and hit the front of the house. There were children on the bus at the time but none were injured. The bus driver did suffer minor injuries. No word on what caused the crash. It is still under investigation.

41-year-old Nyia Parler waived her right to fight extradition from Maryland in court Tuesday afternoon. She will be returned to Philadelphia to face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, neglect of a care-dependent person. Parler is accused of leaving her 21-year-old quadriplegic, non-verbal, cerebral palsy stricken son in the woods off Cobbs Creek Parkway with a blanket and a bible. The young man was discovered still alive four days later by a passer-by suffering from malnourishment and dehydration. He remains hospitalized. Parler had gone to visit a boyfriend in Maryland. There is no time table for her return to the city.

Philadelphia Police are looking for the public's help in identifying two suspects in a robbery in Society Hill on April 10th. It happened around 2:40 a.m. on the 300 block of 5th Street. The victim, a 52-year-old male, had just parked his vehicle in his garage following a night at a club when he was approached by the two men holding what appeared to be an AK-47 assault rifle. They demanded his belongings and took his wallet and iPhone. They fled in a white SUV. The suspects had followed the victim from the club and surveillance video captured images of the men and their vehicle. They are both described as black men in their 20's.
