Eagles to Sign QB Tim Tebow; Five Families Displaced by Fire; Attempted Murder Charge in Hit-and-Run

The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly have reached an agreement with QB Tim Tebow. He will arrive in town to sign the 1-year deal tomorrow, Monday. The 27-year-old Tebow will join the Eagles as the 4th quarterback on the depth chart behind Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, and Matt Barkley in time for the start of off-season workouts. Tebow last played in the NFL in 2012 for the Jets behind Sanchez. He was in camp with the Patriots in 2013 but was cut before the season. Tebow worked as an analyst for ESPN and the SEC last year.

Five families have been displaced after a three-alarm fire tore through row homes in Norristown on Sunday afternoon. The fire started around 1:00 pm on the 800 block of Kohn Street. Dry conditions and wind helped push the fire between the homes. Eight homes were impacted with five suffering the most damage from fire, smoke, and water. Thankfully no one was injured in the blaze. The Red Cross is assisting those families that have been displaced from their homes. Neighbors believe that an outside grill may have caused the fire. Officials are trying to determine the exact cause.

Philadelphia Police have charged a woman with attempted murder in the hit-and-run accident in Tioga-Nicetown on Friday. 29-year-old Precious Richardson Coleman has been charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder and related offenses. The incident happened after 2 p.m. Friday on the 4400 block of North 17th Street. After an argument between Coleman and the victim, 24-year-old Beatrice Spence, Coleman left the scene and returned in her white Dodge Durango SUV. She drove the vehicle up onto the curb striking Spence, pinning her to the porch, and severed her leg. Coleman then drove off. Spence was taken to the hospital where doctors had to amputate. Police recovered the vehicle in the rear alley of the 6000 block of N Marvine Street early on Saturday morning and arrested Coleman outside her home on the 2800 block of Van Pelt Street later that same morning. Coleman is being held in lieu of $750,000 bail.
