  by: Rebel - Havertown, PA
started: 08/26/11 2:50 pm | updated: 08/26/11 2:50 pm

Based on the track of Hurricane Irene and anticipated sustained high winds, heavy rains, and the potential for severe flooding, downed trees, and wires SEPTA service will be suspended between 12:30 a.m. and 12 Noon, Sunday August 28. We will monitor the situation through the overnight and determine our ability to run service after 12 Noon.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 2011

NORMAL Service will operate on ALL Bus, Trolley, and High Speed Subway Routes until 12:30 a.m. (Sunday, August 28)

Owl Service will NOT operate (any route in service at 12:30 a.m. will continue through the end of the scheduled trip)

Amtrak will be suspending service at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, which will force the suspension of the following SEPTA Regional Rail Lines: Airport, Chestnut Hill West, Paoli/Thorndale, Trenton, and Wilmington/Newark. Trains scheduled to DEPART after 5:00 p.m. on these lines will not operate.

NORMAL Service will operate on the Chestnut Hill East, Fox Chase, Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Elwyn, Warminster, and West Trenton Regional Rail Lines until 12:30 a.m.

Please be aware that the following late night Regional Rail trains, scheduled to depart after 12:30 a.m. will NOT run:

Manayunk/Norristown Line:
Train #6242 departing from Elm Street at 12:39 a.m.
Train #6236 departing from Suburban Station at 12:48 a.m.
Train #6238 departing from Suburban Station at 1:48 a.m.

Lansdale/Doylestown Line Shuttle bus service will take place, as scheduled, on Saturday, August 27th ONLY

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28, 2011

SERVICE IS SUSPENDED ON ALL ROUTES UNTIL 12 NOON

SEPTA will monitor the storm track through the night and into Sunday morning. We will assess our ability to run service after 12 Noon based on our ability to safely operate vehicles and road/track conditions.

The Customer Service Call Center (215-580-7800) will operate with the following extended hours:

Saturday: 8:00am-10:00pm
Sunday: 8:00am-8:00pm
Monday: 5:00am-8:00pm

CCT CONNECT

ALL CCT Connect service will be suspended beginning at 10:00 p.m. Saturday (August 27) and continuing until 4:00 a.m. Monday (August 29)

CCT will ONLY provide transportation for return trips home between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Saturday

The CCT Connect Reservation Office will be open on Sunday

All SEPTA service information will be announced through the City of Philadelphia and the Mayor's Office, posted on the SEPTA website in the homepage Alert box, and sent through Twitter and ReadyNotifyPA. Please also listen to local media outlets for up to the minute travel and weather news.

With the anticipated heavy rains the parking lots at Bethayres, Jenkintown-Wyncote, Crestmont, Spring Mill, Conshohocken, and Miquon Stations can expect flooding and there may be other station lots that will flood because of the excessive rainfall. We urge anyone who may use these stations on Saturday to be certain to remove their car from the lot.
