Missing Upper Merion Woman Found Dead; Jewelers Row Murder Suicide; Man Arrested, Shot 12-year-old

Upper Merion police believe that a body found Sunday afternoon is that of a woman missing since last month. 37-year-old Heather Tillette went missing on Thursday, February 26th. She was last seen walking out of Einstein Medical Center on the 500 block of Germantown Pike in East Norriton Township after missing an appointment for treatment. The body was found around 2:15 p.m. in a wooded area near Taft Road in East Norriton. Officials have not yet made a positive identification, but based on the location, clothing, and other items they believe it is Tillette. Her family has been notified. An exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy is performed.

A man and woman were found dead inside their Holland, Bucks County home in an apparent murder-suicide. The couple's son-in-law made the discovery at around 3:50 Sunday afternoon. Police found the two in the second floor of the split-level home on the unit block of Lempa Road in Northampton Township. Neighbors say that the couple was 65-year-old Boris Sereda and his wife 61-year-old Enna. They also say that Boris had been suffering a long term illness. The couple operated Sereda Enterprises, a fine jeweler, on Jeweler's Row in Center City for more than 30 years. It appears that Boris shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. A handgun was recovered at the scene. The incident is still under investigation.

Philadelphia Police have arrested a man wanted for shooting his ex-girlfriend's 12-year-old son early Sunday morning. It happened at approximately 2:10 a.m. Sunday on the 3500 block of Janney Street in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section. 23-year-old Jamille Carter forced his way into the house and was fighting with the boy's 33-year-old mother. The boy, who was sleeping upstairs, was awoken by the commotion and came down the stairs to see what was going on. Police say that Carter pulled out a gun and shot the boy on the stairs. The 12-year-old was hit in the thigh. He was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in stable condition. He was treated and released Sunday afternoon. Carter fled the scene and police were looking for him for most of the day, but he turned himself in without incident later Sunday.
