Suspects Charged in Wilson Murder; Search For Newtown Teen #FindCayman; 12-Packs at PA Distributors

Two suspects have been charged in the shooting death of Philadelphia Police Officer Robert Wilson III. They have been identified as brothers, 24-year-old Ramone Williams and 29-year-old Carlton Hipps. The two have been charged with 1st degree murder, conspiracy, and attempted murder. The incident happened at 4:45 pm Thursday afternoon inside the GameStop store at 22nd Street and Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia. Officer Wilson went into the store to do a security check and to purchase a game for his 8-year-old son as a reward for doing well in school and his birthday next week. While he was at the counter, the suspects entered the store and announced a robbery. Gunfire broke out between the robbers and Wilson. He was hit multiple times, including the head, but continued to shoot while protecting the customers. As the suspects were fleeing the scene, Wilson's partner, who was in the patrol car, shot Hipps in the leg. Williams went back and tried to blend in with the crowd inside the store but was found out. 50 gunshots were fired at the scene. Two weapons were discovered. Hipps is in custody at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Williams is said to have made a full confession.

Hundreds of volunteers came out on Friday morning to search the Newtown Square neighborhood of missing Shipley School 8th grader Caymen Naib. (pictured below) The 13-year-old has been missing since Wednesday evening when he left home around 6:30 pm. He had just received an e-mail containing a progress report with a notice of an overdue homework assignment. Naib left home without his wallet or phone. He was wearing black ski pants, hiking boots and a gray down jacket. He is 5'7" and weighs 110 pounds. Police have interviewed his friends and don't believe he is at any of their homes. The search included family, friends, neighbors, schoolmates, K-9 units, even a drone to search over the snow covered fields. If you aren't from Pennsylvania, today's advisory legal opinion from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board wouldn't seem so monumental or game changing, but now citizens of age will have the option of purchasing 12-packs at beer distributors for the first time since Prohibition ended over 80 years ago. The previous interpretation of the law forbid them from selling anything less than a case of 24 or a 'single container' normally defined as a keg containing at least 128 ounces. Pittsburgh lawyer Charles Caputo, who represents the state's beer-distributor lobby, proposed to the PLCB that a cardboard box could be considered a 'single container.' They sat on his proposal until now. The 12-pack must be sold 'as-is' and must be designated by the manufacturer as such. (sorry, no mixing and matching or splitting 24-count cases) Distributors can start selling as soon as manufacturers can get them the product.
