Philadelphia Police have arrested and charged a man in the assault of a women in a Center City SEPTA station on Monday afternoon. 26-year-old Reginald Green is charged with Attempted Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Restraint, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Simple Assault, and Indecent Assault. It happened around 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Station. The 27-year-old woman was trying to get home to Northeast Philadelphia and asked for directions. Green accompanied her into the station where they talked for a period of time. Eventually, he led her into a secluded area off the station platform. There he beat, kicked, and tried to rape her. The victim is still recovering in the hospital. Police recognized Green from surveillance footage and brought him in Tuesday evening. They say he has 11 prior arrests, including at least one indecent assault.
The Little League team from Chicago that knocked out Philadelphia's Taney Dragons from the Little League World Series in the semi-final round has had its US championship taken away today. Little League officials have determined that Jackie Robinson West recruited players from outside its geographical boundaries. The coach has been suspended and the Illinois District 4 administrator has been removed. The championship has now been awarded to Mountain Ridge Little League from Las Vegas. Of course, this is of no fault to the actual players on JRW. The team was the first African-American team team to win the championship. The team eventually lost the world championship to a team from Seoul, South Korea. The Taney Dragon's issued this statement:
The decision by Little League International will in no way affect the level of respect that we have for the JRW players. On the field, they competed with discipline and class, and played the game the right way. Off the field, they carried themselves as gentleman and represented their city and families well. They should be proud of their accomplishments.

Mayor Nutter unveiled the details of Philadelphia's long awaited bike share program this morning. The "Indego" system will be sponsored by Independence Blue Cross and feature 600 blue-and-white bikes, available in at least 60 locations, 24/7. The location of the docking stations will be from the Delaware River to University City and from the Navy Yard to Temple University. Bikes will feature sturdy frames, 3-speeds, front and rear lights, a bell, and basket. (pictured below) Riders will be able to rent from and return bikes to any station. Exact fees have not been announced but riders will be able to purchase monthly memberships that include free 60 minute rides, pay-as-you-ride memberships, or a flat fee for walk up rides. You will pay using a member card or credit/debit card. There is a cash option when buying memberships. Other cities sharing programs cost roughly $5/hour. Blue Cross is contributing $1.7 million per year for the next 5 years, the city is putting up $3 million, and $4.5 million will come from state, federal, and foundation funding.
