Kingsessing Shooting, Brine and Salt Cost, Christie Vetoes Contractor Product Supply Bill

Police say a man was shot at 17 times and killed overnight in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia. This happened around midnight on the 1400 block of South Paxon Street. Police say after responding to calls of numerous shots being fired, they found a 51-year-old man â€” shot in the face and body â€” lying unconsciousness in the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say they believe they are looking for two suspects who fled the scene on foot.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has vetoed a series of bills that would have required that those receiving public contracts use products that were made in America. Christieâ€™s veto message stresses he supports American business, but these measures would â€œchill international development and increase costs borne by taxpayersâ€ and, in turn, stymie job creation. The New Jersey Business and Industry Association agrees.
