A one-month-old baby is in stable condition after a quarter of her face was chewed off by ferrets in her home. It happened Thursday on the 300 block of Poplar Street in Darby Borough, Delaware County. The baby's mother left the child in a car seat on the floor and went upstairs. She rushed back downstairs after hearing screaming to find the baby's face had been chewed by the family's pet ferrets. The baby lost her nose, lips, and part of her cheek. She was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is in stable condition, but will require multiple surgeries. The parent's four other children are now in the custody of Child & Youth Services. There haven't been any arrests or charges yet in the investigation. Ferrets are legal to own as pets in Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia police have released a new video related to Wednesday morning's attack on a teenager on a trolley. The video comes from the SEPTA Route 15 trolley's surveillance cameras. It shows the attacker on the trolley stand up and take 17-year-old Shay Wharton's hat and then start to punch her in the face. Wharton punched back in defense. She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital for a broken nose, black eye, and blurred vision. The man got off the trolley and fled at 7th and Girard. He was apparently upset because the girl's backpack hit hime multiple times while riding the crowded trolley. The suspect is described as approximately 35 years of age, 5'6 to 5'8, salt and pepper mustache and goatee, wearing a black skull hat, blue striped shirt, black trench coat, and dark jeans. If you have any information, call Philadelphia Police at 215-686-3243.

A former Delaware County volunteer fireman, who was previously charged with arson, has been charged for sexually assaulting over a dozen children. 20-year-old John Corcoran of Glenolden is facing 161 counts including rape of child. (pictured below) District Attorney Jack Whelan said that Corcoran lured and groomed 14 victims, ages 8 to 14, and assaulted them repeatedly over 2 years. Corcoran would give his victims gifts and then rape, molest, and video tape them. The assaults would occur at his home shared with his parents and at the Ridley YMCA. Corcoran was arrested and charged with arson and risking a catastrophe last August. He was accused of setting three vacant homes on fire last spring. He would then fight the fires as a volunteer with the Goodwill Fire Company Number 1 of Darby Township. No one was hurt in those fires.
