Husband Charged in Mount Laurel Murder; Union Case Goes to Jury; Female Teacher Involved w/ Student

Police have arrested and charged the husband of a missing Mount Laurel mother of two with her murder Tuesday afternoon. 28-year-old Kyle J. Crosby was charged with one count of murder in the death of 26-year-old Erica Crippen. Erica's body has not be recovered. Crosby is being held at Burlington County Jail on $1 million bail. Crosby was taken in for questioning last night after a traffic stop in Bellmawr, NJ. He was driving his wife's missing Ford Taurus. Police found several items in the trunk that they think are connected to her disappearance. Erica's family has not seen or heard from her since December 30th. Kyle had been missing since last Wednesday. Police issued a warrant for Crosby last week for Endangering the Welfare of a Child due to the lack of care he was providing his children. The warrant lead to the traffic stop last night. Anyone with information that can help in the investigation is asked to call Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113.

The federal racketeering case against former Philadelphia ironworkersâ€™ union boss Joseph Dougherty is now in the hands of the jury. Throughout the trial, the prosecution presented testimony from union members (including those who pled guilty) and played secret tapes that showed Dougherty used vandalism, arson, extortion, and intimidation against contractors who hired non-union workers. The defense said those union members would say anything to save themselves. A series of character witnesses was presented that painted Dougherty as kind, generous and honest man. If convicted, the former head of Ironworkers Local 401 could spend the rest of his life in prison.

A 35-year-old teacher from Coatesville, Chester County, has been arrested and charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student. Sarah O'Neill has been charged with four counts of corruption of a minor. O'Neill has taught English at the all-boys college preparatory boarding school Church Farm School in Exton, PA for seven years beginning September 2007 and ending June 2014. Investigators say that the two started their 'romantic relationship' in January 2014 and it lasted 10 months. The exact nature of their relationship has not been revealed but the four incidents occurred either in her car or at area hotels. The school has been cooperating with the investigation.
