Bush Rushed To Hospital, 30th Street Station Chanukah Demonstration, Eagles Pro Bowlers

Former President George H.W. Bush has been taken to a Houston hospital after experiencing a shortness of breath. Bush was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital on Tuesday evening as a precaution. Bush spent nearly two months in the same hospital and was discharged in January 2013 after treatment for a bronchitis-related cough and other health issues.

Tuesday marked the last night of Chanukah, and for many local people of the Jewish faith they used the night to shine light on a movement very close to their hearts. Dozens gathered underneath the giant Menorah at 30th Street Station to celebrate Chanukah and take part in a peaceful demonstration. The hour long demonstration consisted of praying, singing and the lighting of candles to show their solidarity with other civil rights protests around the country. Protesters also read the names of people who they say died at the hands of the police.

The Eagles have been eliminated from the playoffs and won’t be playing in January—but five Eagles will be playing in January’s Pro Bowl. They are offensive tackle Jason Peters, center Jason Kelce, running back LeSean McCoy, linebacker Connor Barwin and special teams threat Darren Sproles. For Kelce, Barwin and Sproles, this will be the first time they’ve been chosen as Pro Bowlers. This is Peters’ seventh time and the third time for McCoy as Pro Bowlers. This is the second-straight season that five Eagles have been named to the Pro Bowl. All five last year were on offense last year. The Pro Bowl will take place on January 25 in Glendale, Arizona., and will air live on ESPN.
