Brad Stone Did Not Stab Himself; Father Arrested in Poconos Crash; Mardi Gras Mummers in Manayunk

After an autopsy, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office said today that they have not yet determined a cause of death for Bradley Stone, the man responsible for a killing spree that killed 6 and injured 1. Dr. Walter Hoffman said that despite what District Attorney Risa Ferman announced on Tuesday, Stone did not die of self-inflicted stabbing or cutting wounds. Hoffman said that the body sustained no trauma at all, save for a cut on the leg that wasn't life threatening. Stone was found dead in the woods near his Pennsburg, PA home Tuesday afternoon after an intense manhunt. Stone shot/stabbed to death his ex-wife and five members of her family and injured another early on Monday morning in three different MontCo locations. The medical examiner will have to wait a few weeks until toxicology results return to make a determination.

A New York man has been arrested and charged in connection with a one-car crash in the Poconos that killed three Bucks County teenagers over Labor Day Weekend. 53-year-old Michael Ware of Scarsdale, NY, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, false reporting, permitting unauthorized person to drive, and recklessly endangering another person. A SUV driven by Ware's 15-year-old daughter flipped and crash on Goosepond Road in Paupack Township, Wayne County on August 30th. There were six teenagers in the car at the time. 15-year-old Ryan Lesher, Shamus Digney, and Cullen Keffer were killed in the accident. All three were set to start sophomore year at Council Rock South high school. The investigation revealed that Ware allowed his daughter to take the car on multiple occasions despite not having a driver's license or permit.

The Mummers will be coming to Main Street in Manayunk for Mardi Gras next year. The Manayunk Development Corporation and the Philadelphia String Band Association have announced the sequins and feathers will strut down the mile long stretch of Main Street on Sunday, February 22, 2015 (Mardi Gras tuesday is actually February 17th this year), for the first â€œPhiladelphia Mummers Mardi Gras in Manayunk Parade.â€ So far 10 of the 16 string bands have committed to the event which will run from 10 a.m. to Noon. The entire event will be free, but $10 passbooks with coupons to Manayunk businesses will be sold. The Mummers hope this will be a great fundraising event for the self-funded organizations. The MDC said this will be a fun and family-oriented event; No outdoor alcohol will be permitted and strictly enforced. They suggest patronizing the numerous bars and restaurants after the parade. Of course the Mummers will still be marching down Broad Street on New Year's Day on a shorter one mile route south from City Hall to Washington Ave.
