Police found the body of a Gloucester Township woman today who had been reported missing since last Friday, December 5th and charged a suspect with her murder. The body of 59-year-old Susan Johnson was discovered in a wooded area in Evesham Township near Willow Ridge Park. 30-year-old Miguel Angel Diaz has been charged with first degree murder. Johnson, Diaz and another woman worked together at a cleaning business. Johnson had invited the two to live in her home with her because they were down on their luck. Last Friday, Police allege that Diaz beat Johnson to death after an argument over money. The other woman was a witness to the murder. When questioned about Johnson's disappearance the woman told them about the murder and where they could find the body. She will not be charged. Diaz will be arraigned on Monday.

Officials from the Burlington County Prosecutors Office have released the identity of a woman found dead in the trunk of a car outside of Maple Shade hotel last weekend. The body belonged to 38-year-old Maria Santiago of the 100 block of East Wellens Avenue in Philadelphia. She was found around 9:45 p.m. Sunday night outside the Quality Inn on Route 38. Santiago was reported missing by her family. Police were able to locate her car using OnStar. Her live-in boyfriend, 41-year-old Jesus Garcia, was in possession of the vehicle when the body was found. He has been charged with concealing human remains and is being held in Burlington County Jail.

Point Pleasant Police said Friday that there are two persons-of-interest in the shooting of Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel (aka Dwight Grant). No arrests have been made yet. Sigel remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Police responded to the scene of a shooting on the 800 block of West Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville at 9:25 a.m. on Friday, December 5th. Sigel had been shot inside his house after returning form dropping off his kids. The bullet hit him in the abdomen and exited his back. Police encountered a gray Honda Odyssey fleeing the scene. They took the driver into custody, interviewed, and released the man who remains a person of interest. The minivan is registered to Sigel's sister-in-law. That woman is also a person-of-interest but has not been located. Sigel's attorney has said that his client was not the target of the shooting. Sigel was shot the day before his supervised house arrest was set to expire.
