Philadelphia Police have arrested a man already on probation for a series of tire slashings in Northeast Philly in the spring of 2012 for a new rash of vandalism in his new neighborhood. David Toledo was convicted for slashing the tire of numerous vehicles in his Mayfair neighborhood. He interjected himself into that investigation and even destroyed his own tires. Toledo now lives in Oxford Circle. Police were investigating similar complaints on the 1600 block of Creston Street. On Wednesday morning, two SEPTA employees saw a man place a mousetrap fitted with nails in front of car tire and then walk into a house on the block. The man was identified as 46-year-old Toledo. He was arrested on Friday night and arraigned Saturday.

A Philadelphia police officer was struck and injured by a car while responding to a shooting in West Kensington on Saturday evening. It happened around 5:15 p.m. on the 2300 block of North Fairhill Street. A gunman had opened fire on man, shooting him six times. A friend of the victim began to chase the shooter with his car when he hit the police officer who had just arrived at the scene. The policeman suffered some scrapes and bruises. He was taken to Episcopal Hospital and released. The shooting victim is at Temple University Hospital in critical but stable condition. The driver of the chase vehicle was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a vehicle on a police officer. The gunman got away but they did recover the weapon.

A man was killed during what appears to be a hunting accident Saturday afternoon in West Windsor in Mercer County, New Jersey. A 45-year-old man and his 70-something father were hunting Canadian geese on a property they own on the 1200 block of Old Trenton Road. Both men did have licenses to hunt. Authorities have not released their identities. Initially, police said that the man in his 40's was shot in the back of his head by his father. However, they said later that he shot himself in the head and neck with his own gun. When medics arrived to the property the man was already deceased. An autopsy will be performed next week. West Windsor Police and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office are treating this as an accident but will continue to investigate.
