Tabernacle called Murder-Suicide; Arrest in Temple Student Shooting; Cop Shot Own Car

New Jersey State Police announced in a press conference this afternoon that a mother used a pillow to muffle the noise while shooting three of her children before turning the gun on herself. All four of the victims were found in a bedroom of their home on Holly Park Drive in Tabernacle, Burlington County on Thursday morning. 44-year-old Jeaninne LePage and 11-year-old Alexander Harriman survived the shooting and were taken to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition. 8-year-old Nadia Harriman and 14-year-old Nicholas Harriman were dead at the scene. The revolver used in the shooting was found near LePage. Other family members in the house did not hear the gunshots. A candlelight vigil was held at the Tabernacle Town Hall on Thursday evening. Investigators are still trying to determine a motive. Charges against LePage are yet to be determined.

Philadelphia Police have arrested a man who shot a Temple student during an attempted robbery earlier this month outside an off-campus party. Temple University police took Derek Hancock into custody yesterday. The incident happened on November 8th on the 1500 block of N.17th Street. Hancock approached two students standing outside an off-campus residence saying, "give me everything you got.â€ He pulled up his shirt to reveal a silver handgun. The victim charged Hancock who then pulled the gun, shooting the 19-year-old student in the leg. Hancock faces attempted murder and robbery charges.

Last month a Winslow Township, South Jersey police officer shot his own patrol car and claimed he was fired upon. It happened October 3rd at 8:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Erial Road near New Brooklyn Park. 23-year-old Daâ€™Shaun Carr, a part-time Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Winslow Police Department, hit the emergency button in his car and called in that he had been shot at. Officers from various departments responded to his location. Investigators found fragments of the bullet that went through his windshield and into the car. They believe Carr used a personal handgun to shoot his cruiser. They did not give a motive. Carr has been charged with one count of third-degree False Public Alarm and has been suspended without pay.
