Malik Anderson was served a life sentence by a Philadelphia jury on Wednesday. He was charged with the first-degree murder of his friend in August of 2013. The tragedy occurred because of an unequal share of money when the two sold a stolen PlayStation system. Anderson will serve life in prison without parole.

City Council approved a bill on Thursday that will help low-wage employees in Philadelphia earn $12/hour as a minimum wage. This would also benefit the employer by receiving a large tax credit for every new full-time employee that is paid this minimum wage. Mayor Nutter has until the end of the month to sign it into law.

Philly police are investigating a road-rage incident involving a school bus that occurred Thursday afternoon. The students on the bus yelled at a passing car, and two women got out of the car to beat the bus with a baseball bat and spray it with mace. Only one student was injured from flying glass, but no arrests have been made.

Sports:
The Sixers lost to the Celtics last night and they will take on the Orlando Magic, Saturday at 7:30.

Weather:
