Philadelphia International Airport does not have any direct flights that arrive from West Africa and it is not one of the 5 U.S. airports designated by the Department of Homeland for additional Ebola screenings. Regardlessm PHL released a statement on Monday that they "continue to coordinate" with the Centers for Disease Control and federal customs and border protection officials to identify passengers displaying possible symptoms of communicable diseases such as Ebola. Customs personnel observe all arriving international travelers for symptoms and may even ask questions. If an individual is suspected of being infected, local and federal health authorities will be called for further evaluation. PHL wants to remind us that it is being vigilant in preventing disease from arriving in our area through the airport.

A 20-year-old Penn State student is under arrest after posting terroristic threats to the social media app Yik Yak over the weekend. Jong Seong Shim of Tinton Falls, NJ, told police that the post was just a "prank" however authorities weren't amused. He is facing charges of terroristic threats with intention to terrorize another, terroristic threats causing serious public inconvenience, and disorderly conduct with a hazardous physical offense. The post went up at 10:26 p.m. on Saturday night. It read "I am going to kill everyone in penn state main on monday. i got 5 beta mags of ar 15 and shoot everyone in the hub at 12:00. this is a warning" The HUB is the main student center on campus. Students who saw the message alerted campus police. The school was on 'high alert' until the suspect was tracked down with help from Yik Yak. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Locomotive Engineers and SEPTA have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract after 5 years of standoff and negotiations. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen represents 200 train engineers that operate the regional rail lines. The 13 SEPTA suburban rail lines carry 60,000 commuters every day. The new contract will last through July 2015. Workers will get a 13.32 percent pay raise. After a 1-day walkout last June, President Obama appointed an emergency board to mediate the dispute. The proposed new contract will now go to the union members for a vote.

Tonight,
Partly Cloudy, around 64 degrees this evening in Center City.
