Olney Burning Car/Body Arrest; Philly Fast Food March, 11 Arrests; Gov. Jack Markell Explains Tweet

An arrest has been made in connection with the discovery of a body found in a burning car yesterday in the city's Olney section. Homicide detectives have taken the vehicle's owner into custody and plan to charge him with murder. Witnesses saw the driver of the car shoot the passenger in the head before speeding off on the 400 block of Roselyn Street Wednesday afternoon. The car was found hours later on fire in an alley behind Lawrence Street. Firefighters discovered the body after extinguishing the flames sitting in the passenger seat. There is no motive yet. Police are still investigating.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified by his parents as 24-year-old Rafael Riviera. His mother made the dental identification at Medical Examiner's office. Riviera was on probation and had recently become a father.

More than 100 fast food workers and supporters marched down about a mile of North Broad Street in Philadelphia this afternoon advocating for an increase in wages to $15-an-hour and the right to unionize. The demonstration was part of a nationwide movement called "Fight for $15" in which similar events were held in over 100 cities across the country today. Workers complain that they cannot survive let alone support a family on the current minimum wages of $7.25/hour. The protest ended up at the McDonald's at Broad and Arch Streets for a rally. 11 protesters were arrested by police for refusing to disperse after being ordered to leave. Governor Jack Markell of Delaware has apologized after an inappropriate photo of a female was sent out from his verified Twitter account. The 'inadvertent' photo was sent along with a mundane/routine tweet about being at Warner Elementary School in Wilmington to talk about a new education initiative. That picture was of a blonde woman dressed in some sort of bondage gear giving the peace sign. The tweet was taken down and he issued an apology. His office released this a statement explaining that the auto-generated link to the intended photo was inadvertently altered while editing the tweet so that this wrong picture from somewhere on the internet uploaded in 2010 got attached to the Governor's tweet instead. They also say the wish the accidental link had been a cat video. Don't edit in haste, you may get bondage Barbie.

Governor Markellâ€™s office also released the following statement:
â€œDuring this morningâ€™s event, a tweet was composed with a link to what was supposed to be a picture that had just been uploaded to the internet of the Governorâ€™s education announcement. While the tweet was being edited, the auto-generated link for the picture was inadvertently altered. As a result, the picture linked to the tweet was a random, unrelated, and inappropriate picture that has been on the internet since 2010, and not the just-uploaded picture of the event. The tweet was deleted and we apologize for the error.
The lessons here are not to compose tweets too quickly and there is a lot of odd stuff on the internet. We just wish the accidental link had been a cat video.â€
