Beyonce Free Backpacks in Philly; 8 Arrested in Caesars Heist; Robin Williams had Parkinson's

Beyonce's charity #BeyGOOD in conjunction with STATE bags will be giving away free backpacks and school supplies to 2,000 needy students in six cities including Philadelphia. There will be a pep rally and bag drop off event at the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia on August 27th to benefit local organizations. You can contribute to #BeyGOOD x STATE GIVEBACKPACK Program by purchasing one of the #BeyGOOD State Bag backpacks. For every bag purchased, one will be given to a child. These are really nice too.

Eight people have been arrested in connection with a brazen armed robbery last month at Caesars Atlantic City that netted $180,000 in cash. On July 21st, 19-year-old Izyiah Plummer of Atlantic City and 24-year-old Aaron Evans of Pleasantville stole two cases of cash from casino employees at gunpoint during a routine transfer. They got in a car driven by 21-year-old Nathaniel Greenlee of Bear, Delaware with passenger 20-year-old Donovan Jackson of Wilmington, Delaware. Plummer recently worked at the casino as a security guard and his knowledge of the procedures helped them pull it off in four minutes. Despite the careful planning, Plummer was tracked down and caught the next day. Detectives in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware have now arrested everyone who was involved in the heist or received some of the stolen cash.They have recovered around $150,000 so far. Lance Rogers, 20, of Atlantic City, Monique Kelly and Dwayne Morgan, 19, of Pleasantville, and John Greenlee of Wilmington were also arrested.

Robin Williams' widow Susan Schneider released a statement today that said the actor had been suffering from the beginnings of Parkinson's disease along with depression and anxiety but that he was still sober. â€œRobinâ€™s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinsonâ€™s disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly,â€ Schneider said. Parkinson's disease is a nervous system disease that causes the afflicted to have halted movements, jilted speech, and develop dementia over time. Notable celebrities living with Parkinson's include Michael J. Fox, Muhammad Ali, and Linda Ronstadt. It is incurable.
