Man Sentenced 935 Years in Prison; SEPTA Train Operator Assaulted; Christie Thinking of Running 2016

A Lower Makefield, Bucks County, man was sentenced Tuesday to 935- to 1,870-years in prison for sexually abusing a girl over 4 years and video taping nearly every assault. Judge Albert Cepparulo wanted the sentence of 81-year-old Thomas Holliday to serve as a warning to other child predators. Holliday was convicted in January of 234 counts including creating and possessing child pornography. Holliday is a retired composer who began to abuse the girl in 2009 when she was 14 years old. He was a family friend and offered to help the mother financially and the girl had been sent to live with Holliday. Holliday claims that two were in love and denies any wrongdoing. Police were first notified last summer after the girl confided in a family member. The sentence is a record for a child molester; the previous record being 494Â½ to 989 years.

A passenger on SEPTA's Norristown High Speed Line is in custody after assaulting the train operator. It happened at 3:00pm Wednesday afternoon at the Ardmore Junction station near Haverford Road and West Hathaway Lane in Havertown, Pa. The female passenger struck the female train operator, apparently over a fare dispute. Haverford Township Police took the suspect into custody who now faces assault charges. The driver did not sustain any serious injuries. SEPTA officials are investigating.

Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey said today that he is thinking about running for President of the United States and by the time 2016 comes around the controversy over the George Washington Bridge lane closures "will be a footnote." He told a conference in Washington that after all the investigation "there hasn't been one suggestion that I knew anything about" the orders to close the lanes. CBS' Bob Schieffer asked the governor if he was thinking of running, and when would he make a decision. Christie replied, â€œYes, and later.â€
