School Board unbans "Redskins"; Man Arrested for Stalking Villanova Student; $40k Reward Lawncrest

A suburban Philadelphia school board has approved a new policy that prohibits it's school paper from banning the word ''Redskins'' in reference to the school's sports teams and mascot. Last October the Neshaminy High School newspaper staff voted to ban use of the word in the publication, saying it was a racial slur. School board members voted on Tuesday to forbid The Playwickian from banning that word. They said it violated the free speech of any student writing articles about the school's sports teams. Playwickian Editorial page co-editor Jack Haines said the staff would consult with their counsel, obtained from the Student Press Law Center.

A Montgomery County man has been arrested and charged with stalking a female Villanova student on campus. 39-year-old Kornwell Chan is accused of stalking the student inside the campus library on 10 different occasions last fall. He returned to campus on Tuesday and was taken into custody by Radnor Township Police. Chan is a Meganâ€™s Law Offender and has a long history of similar crimes. In December 2012 he plead guilty to stalking a women he met at a train station, breaking into her home and stealing her undergarments. He was also convicted for taking upskirt pictures of women at the King of Prussia Mall between September 2011 and May 2012. He is now back in jail on parole violations.

The family of a murdered mother and son in Philadelphia's Lawncrest neighborhood are speaking out and asking for the public's help in finding their loved ones' killer. Donna Muller, 49, and her 22-year-old son, Richard, were found shot to death on January 19th inside the familyâ€™s home in the 300 block of Stevens Street. There were no signs of forced entry and the family dog didn't attack or bark. They were shot execution style and no valuables were taken. Today, the victims' daughter/sister and sister/aunt pleaded for anyone who may know anything to come forward. There is a $40,000 reward from the City of Philadelphia for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the Mullers' killer.
