A SWAT standoff has ended in Pitman, Glocuester County Tuesday. Pitman Police responded around 3 p.m. to a home near near Columbia Avenue and Delsea Drive. Police then summoned the Gloucester County Special Weapons and Tactics Team which negotiated with the barricaded man until his voluntary surrender shortly before 8 p.m. Investigators say the man was taken to the hospital.

Boylston Street was evacuated Tuesday night after two bags were left at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Both bags were detonated by the Bomb Squad. At least one of the bags was being carried by a barefoot man who was wearing a long black veil and screaming “Boston Strong.” When the suspect was stopped by police, he told them he had a rice cooker in his bag. That is when the Bomb Squad was called to the scene. The Bomb Squad inspected the bag left behind the photo bridge and detonated it just before 9:00 p.m. The second bag was detonated about 40 minutes later. The bag was found just minutes after the Norden brothers, who are survivors of last year’s attack, completed a relay walk along the 26.2 mile course.

The Amber Alert issued for a 20-month-old in Cumru Township, Berks County was canceled and the boy was found safe. Police received a report around 4 p.m. Tuesday concerning a 24-year-old woman and her 20-month-old son being endangered and missing from their home in the 1000 block of Bedford Avenue. The woman, identified as Jessica Lynn Mauger, and her son, Aedan Mauger, were reported missing by family members. Jessica allegedly left a note stating she and her son would not be returning, and included information which led her family to believe she was going to harm herself. Cumru Township Police, with the help of Lancaster City Police, located Jessica and Aedan around 7:45 p.m. in Lancaster City. Police say both Jessica and Aedan were found safe and unharmed.
