Woman Charged in Prescription Fraud, Annoying Sound to Protect Philly Rec Centers

A Philadelphia woman has been charged with 257 counts of fraud for stealing doctors' identities and using them to fill phony prescriptions for narcotics. Forty-four year old Jaqueline Bernard of Northeast Philadelphia was picked up by the Attorney General's Narcotics Force and the Philadelphia Task Force. Kathleen Kane says prescription drug overdoses have reached full blown crisis status for families and communities across Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia playgrounds and recreation centers will be using an annoying electronic sound to keep kids away during nighttime hours when most vandalism happens. A device known as the Mosquito emits a high pitch annoying sound that is not harmful but extremely annoying if you can hear it. Studies show that most people over the age of 25 cannot hear the frequency.

An ambulance was destroyed and several other emergency vehicles damaged in a fire that ripped through an EMS station in Ardmore early this morning. The fire at Narberth Ambulance Station 313 on Sibley Avenue in Ardmore started inside an ambulance. That vehicle worth almost $200,000 was destroyed and others suffered smoke damage. Other EMS stations in the area will cover the Ardmore area while the Narberth station is shut down.
