Adult Store Robbery Suspect Sought, Nissan Recalls 1 Million Cars, Electronic Cigarette Regulations

Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a string of adult store robberies in Washington Square with his face partially covered and armed with a handgun. Stores robbed were Spruce Street Video, Scorpio Boutique & Book, Scorpio Adult, and Danny's Adult Store. Police describe the suspect as a Black male, 30-to-35 years-of-age, 6’0″, medium to stocky build, 180 to 200 pounds, wearing a light tan jacket or a black winter jacket with hooded a sweatshirts underneath, dark colored jeans, and dark colored boots possibly two–tone, and armed with a handgun.

Nissan is recalling just over 1 million cars, SUVs and vans because the front passenger air bags may not inflate in a crash. It’s the company’s second recall to fix the same problem. The recall affects the Altima midsize car, Leaf electric car, Pathfinder SUV and Sentra compact models from the 2013 and 2014 model years, as well as the NV200 Taxi van and Infiniti JX35 SUV from 2013. Also covered are the Infiniti QX60 and Q50 SUVs from 2014. Nissan will notify owners and dealers will update the software for free. The recall is expected to start in mid-April. The recall affects almost 990,000 vehicles in the U.S., another 60,000 in Canada and small numbers in other countries, Yeager said.

Changes may soon be coming for those who smoke electronic cigarettes in the city of Philadelphia. City Council is set to vote Thursday on whether to ban them in places like restaurants, bars and public parks, just like the current regular cigarette ban in the city. E-cigarettes deliver nicotine or other potentially harmful chemicals to a user in the form of a vapor that’s inhaled. Doctors say more studies are needed to determine the health effects. The FDA plans to regulate electronic cigarettes and related products soon. E-cigs are already banned in public places in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
