Bensalem Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with the theft of about $100,000 in jewelry from three local stores. On Tuesday at about 6 p.m., a white male wearing a black jacket and knit hat entered Sears at Neshaminy Mall. He then went to the jewelry department and cut the cable which secured a spinning displaying case full of jewelry to the main display case. Police say the male then loaded the entire spinning display case into a shopping cart, and exited the store. He entered the passenger side of a red pickup truck parking outside of Sears. The vehicle then fled the scene. Police say the vehicle was driven by a white male. The total value of the jewelry in the displaying case is reported to be about $53,000. On Wednesday, police say a spinning jewelry display case was stolen from the K-Mart at the 100 block of W. Street Road in Lower Southampton Township. Witnesses stated that a red newer model pickup was seen fleeing the scene. The first two letters on the registration were reported to be “ZC”. On Thursday, police say two white males entered the Sears at Oxford Valley Mall. According to police, they stole a spinning jewelry display case and fled in a red or orange pickup truck with the first two letters of “ZC”. Police say the total value of the three thefts is about $100,000.

Comcast reportedly is snatching up an online advertising technology firm for more than a quarter of a billion dollars. Comcast’s latest conquest is FreeWheel Media. “It will give Comcast a new platform for delivering video ads to customers, to broadcast networks, and other major media organizations streaming online,” says TechCrunch writer Ryan Lawler. Lawler says FreeWheel’s servers analyze your location and recent viewing history to serve up better-tailored ads. For the Philly-based media empire, the $300-plus million deal keeps it ahead of the curve in the booming mobile ad market.

Tomorrow marks Shrove Tuesday for members of the Catholic faith, the last day before the official start of Lent. It may be better known now as Fat Tuesday. The word Shrove comes from the old English word shrive, which is the word for going to confession. And so Shrove Tuesday was the day people would go to confession to prepare for Lent. Shrove Tuesday is followed by Ash Wednesday, the kick-off of the 40-day period of Lent, which culminates with Easter Sunday.
